Covington Middle School

Dear Covington Middle School Families,

What an incredible first full week of school we’ve had! I am so proud of our students, staff, and school community for the effort, energy, and enthusiasm that has been shown throughout the week.

This week, our students and staff focused on five key core values and expectations that will guide our behavior and success throughout the year:

1. Respect – treating teachers, classmates, staff, and ourselves with kindness and care.

2. Attendance – being at school every day, on time, and prepared to learn.

3. Dress for Success – wearing clothing that is appropriate for school and sets us up for learning.

4. Cafeteria Expectations – moving safely through the line, cleaning up after ourselves, and showing gratitude to staff.

5. Hallway Behavior – walking calmly, keeping voices down, moving with purpose, and keeping hands and belongings to ourselves.

Students have jumped right in to learning this week, exploring exciting activities, engaging in hands-on experiences, and building important skills in all areas of study. From fun experiments and independent reading to music, health, and physical education, our students are showing enthusiasm, curiosity, and commitment to excellence.

Across the school, students are practicing the behaviors and skills that help them succeed academically and socially, while staff continue to provide guidance, support, and meaningful learning opportunities.

At Covington Middle School, our mission and vision guide everything we do: to create a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment where every student can strive for excellence and reach their full potential. I am extremely proud of how our Cougars have started the year, and I am confident that this momentum will continue as we work together to make this year amazing.
